On the 30rd, there was a live dubbing event with actress Kuroki Meisa (21) for Oshii Mamoru’s (57) long-awaited new full-length live-action movie called "Assault Girls". It’s been 8 years since Oshii’s last full live-action movie.
"Assault Girls" is going to be an epic science-fiction movie with 3 female hunters fighting against huge monsters living in a desert. 90% of Kuroki’s lines are in English and it also was the first time she had to do postsynchronisation for a whole movie.
All the actresses have to add their lines after the movie is done, because they didn’t get to work with an actual script at the set. Oshii is an unique film-maker and has his unique technique of working with nothing but a storyboard for his movies. "I was anxious, because I didn’t really know what to do", Kuroki commented with a bitter smile. The highlight of the movie is going to be the exciting and many large-scale action scenes. The filming took place on an solitary island with a very strong wind sweeping over the location. "We had to work on sand, it was a really tiresome, but also a lot of fun." She looked back at the filming. The other 2 actresses are the international star Kikuchi Rinko (28) and the well-known actress Saeki Hinako (32).
