This time Oricon wanted to find out who is the most popular young actress among female senior high-school students. Actress Yoshitaka Yuriko (21) recently started to experience a sudden boom in her popularity and now we know the she’s the top favorite among the Japanese female high-school students. She was clearly overjoyed when she heard about the praises from those in the same generation as herself. "To get chosen by the female high-school students, one of those groups that is able to bring at least some brightness into this gloomy world! Wow, I’m speechless right now."
Yoshitaka is one of those actresses that score with their skills more than anything else. Last year she had the starring role in the movie "Snakes and Earrings" which gained her the Newcomer Actress Award at the "32nd Japan Academy Awards". People say that "there is something about her acting ability that distinguishes her from all the other young actresses and actors". Many students also commented, "She’s one with her roles. I’m looking forward to see more from her." Yoshitaka has the will to improve herself even more too, "I’ll try my best to meet everyone’s expectations from now on."
Gakky - or Aragaki Yui (21) - got the 2nd place. She’s able to express a lot of emotions and very smart when it comes to choosing the right roles and endorsements. Most comments said something like, "She really can do a lot of different roles without any problems" or "Her expressive power is amazing". In the spring’09 dorama "Smile" she played a girl with aphonia (loss of speech), one of her most difficult roles so far, but due to her expressive skills she easily conveyed a lot of different emotions. Another charm point of her is her bright and lovely smile. "Her smile cheers me up everytime I see it."
Horikita Maki (20) comes in 3rd and is a really versatile actress with many activities in commercials, doramas and movies. She isn’t afraid of trying out new roles and that’s exactly what those female high-school students like about her. "I have a feeling that she will become even much more popular in the near future", one student commented.

Yuriko wins again – and she deserves it, too. She’s definitely the “it” girl at the moment. Hopefully she’ll be able to use this momentum to her advantage.
