Entry 151
I’m going to appear in Arato Genjiro’s "No Longer Human" based on the Dazai Osamu novel of the same name. ☆
My role will be that of Ryoko, the wife of the protagonist Oba Yozo played by Ikuta Toma.
Of course, I’m really happy to be part of making such an important and influential Japanese literature into a film and I’m also more than glad to be able to work together with Arato Genjiro.
I haven’t forgotten his first speech when we first met at the day of the fitting for the costumes.
His words have such a motive power, they make you follow him through thick and thin.
The story is set in the early Showa era, therefore the designs and the materials of the outfits also have a nice retrospective feel to them. ♪ Lately I’ve been doing a couple of works set in this time, so I was already used to wearing such outfits and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.
Also
No matter how often I’ve already been wearing a white kimono, it’s still giving me such a great feeling of happiness. ☆
This time the lining of the bride’s head dress is red, so it looks more like light pink rather than snow white. A fully snow white dress is beautiful too, but the light pink makes the face look a bit softer. ☆
I had so many experiences wearing a white kimono these days, that I found out about a lot of things like, how much lipstick and facial foundation I should put on, how to put on the half wigs and how much hair you should show at the side.
"No Longer Human" is going to open next year!
It’s thoroughly and carefully going to depict the emotions that can’t be put into words.
By the way…
A few days ago they made a big headline about this movie, saying "Ishihara Satomi in a love scene",
but personally I was like "? ? ?" and kinda surprised to hear that (^^ゞ
I received a lot of mails from concerned fans, but there is no reason to be concerned! Don’t worry ☆
We are also only a few scenes left from finishing the filming!
I’d like to spend and sincerely enjoy the rest of the time at the set
without straining myself until the end. ☆
さとみ
[Note: The "love scene" headline was from the original Sanspo article, but Tokyograph never fully translates everything they say. Just in case you think you (or I) missed something! :P]
