Young talent Kawaguchi Haruna (14), who gained a lot of popularity with her recent "Mitsui Rehouse" and "Pokari Sweat" commercials, will make her full-fledged actress debut in the highly anticipated next Fuji TV - Monday 09pm dorama "Tokyo DOGS". This role is going to mark her first big step into the world of acting and it’s definitely a great chance to play alongside great actors such as Oguri Shun (26) in the starring role. For her debut she is going to play the younger sister of Oguri’s character, but she’s definitely not going to settle for side roles. "I’ll work hard in order to someday be able to return to the Monday-09pm slot as the starring actress!"
"Tokyo DOGS" is going to be the first original detective dorama in that prestigious dorama time slot. The dorama is going to feature a "ikemen tag team" as they call it, played by Oguri Shun and Mizushima Hiro (25). Oguri is going to be more of a reserved cop from the New York Police Department with a great training and potential, but no will to use it. The murder of his father is the only reason why he became a cop and why he moved to New York. Mizushima is definitely going to be the bad cop of the two, he used to be in a biker gang himself and knows all kinds of martial-arts. The chemistry between them is something to look forward, it will hold enough room for serious and funny moments.
As said above, Kawaguchi is going to play the younger sister of Oguri’s character, a big deal for such a young and fresh actress. Only 2 years ago she entered the world of show business by becoming an exclusive model for the teen fashion magazine "NICOLA" and now she’s also going to appear in a dorama at prime time.
"I was really happy and surprised when I got the offer! Oguri-san and Mizushima-san, I love them both a lot! I’m the youngest of 3 sisters, so I always wanted to have an older brother." She commented with sparkling eyes.
Right now she’s in her 3rd year in junior high and always has to travel from Nagasaki to Tokyo for her work. With her first dorama role, she’s now facing the long way to Tokyo at least once every week this fall. She’s also already practicing her lines every night. "I either learn them while lying on my futon all alone or when I’m in the bathtub." Of course it also happens that it all gets to much and that she’s crying from vexation, but her futon or the bath are just as good places to give way for some tears. She’ll get used to the stress, no doubt.
All the pain of learning so many lines, but at least she’s surround by some really great actors, or does it make it even worse? "I can’t tell you how nervous and frightened I am! You can do it!, that’s what I always tell myself and I hope it will help me again." Still, she’s already quite ambitious about her career. "I want to work very hard and come back to the Monday-09pm slot as the starring actress next time!"
Kawaguchi Haruna, a young beautiful girl with a big heart, some great talent and very nice character. She’s definitely an actress you should put on your list for the upcoming years. By the way, for those who want to see more of her young and natural beauty, she’s also already going to release her very first calendar in October just like so many other actresses and performers. Haruna is definitely one of those up and coming girls to look out for. Hope she does well in Tokyo Dogs. Looking forward to see it.
Wow, Tokyo Dogs is getting better and better. Hiro, Shun and Yuriko alone were reason enough to anticipate it, but now there are Kawaguchi Haruna and Otsuka Nene, too. Haruna sounds like an awesome person, I hope she gets her break in acting with this.
I guess I will indeed look into buying that calendar of hers…
