Young actress Kawashima Umika (15) has been appointed as the new image character for "Knorr Cup Soup" which had proven to be quite a nice gateway to becoming a successful idol in the near future.
Knorr commercials helped many big names such as Koizumi Kyoko (43), Hirosue Ryoko (29) or Miyazaki Aoi (23) to get a nice boost in the early days of their career. Kawashima is the 12th Knorr girl now and will take over from Nagasawa Masami (22) who has been the previous image character for them. The new commercial with Kawashima will start airing on the 26th and feature popular actor Oguri Shun (26) as well. "There was such a warm athmosphere at the set and I think that you can see that in the final commercial, too." She said.
At the same day of that announcement, Kawashima also had a preview screening of her first starring movie called "Keitai Kareshi" in Tokyo. "It always was my dream to get a starring role, but I never imagined for it to happen so soon." She commented. Her co-actor Ishiguro Hideo (20) also had nothing but praises for the young new actress. "She’s only 15 years old, but she already has what it takes to be a reliable mainstay."
