Last week Stardust finally confirmed that it is indeed actress Takeuchi Yuko who we saw in a flash forward of American TV drama called "Flash Forward" (ABC) on episode 07. We only saw her for a few seconds and a drawing of her face, but it was pretty obvious even without the official statement. Now everyone was looking forward to see more of her and while episode 08 didn’t touch that story arc at all, yesterday we finally got to see episode 09 which was dedicated to Takeuchi’s character called Keiko.
The story about "Flash Forward" in short for those who don’t know the series. A mysterious event causes everyone on the planet to simultaneously lose consciousness for 137 seconds, during which people see what appear to be visions of their lives approximately six months in the future—a global “flashforward”. The pilot episode had very strong ratings, but since then the show has been on a downfall mainly because of some confusing and slow story progression throughout the aired episodes so far. There are still moments that are able to catch your attention and with a beautiful new addition like Takeuchi Yuko, there’s even more reason to continue or start watching the show.
How does she fit in the story? There’s a main character named Dr. Bryce Varley who tried to commit suicide just when the blackout occurred and during his blackout he saw an Asian women who he recently figured out to be a Japanese woman. Thanks to the help of an older Japanese patient, he soon finds out where he could possibly find her in Tokyo. In Episode 09 we find out more about that women, her life, how the blackout influenced her life and towards the end follow Bryce as he flies to Japan in order to find that woman with the kanji for "Believe" tattooed on her wrist. Good news for all people afraid of an Engrrrish speaking Takeuchi, her parts are all in Japanese with English subtitles. On the other hand we get to see Bryce’s character trying to speak a couple of Japanese lines… ^^ She will probably appear in quite a couple of episodes from now on!
Episode 09 is already available online and so I decided to put up a few snapshots to give you a glimpse of her presence. I’m sorry for the mild spoilers. I didn’t post this news before, because I didn’t know how much airtime she actually gets.

Oh, the story is interesting, very interesting. Will google now ^^.
Yuko-san <3
thanks for the info. I dropped this show after 2 first episodes, but now I have a reason to watch it again))
I sure hope she’ll get decent screentime overall. This could even prompt me to break my rule of “no purchase of US TV shows”.
It’s great that she’s still so active, having a son to care for and all that. Although I’d really love to see her play the female lead or even the heroine in another dorama….
Now I have to watch the episode where she is in.
I know they will start showing it here in the spring but I’ll still watch it streaming.
I wish Yuko would make another dorama, I miss watching her in doramas.
She and Satoshi Tsumabuki should definetely do something again or better with Takeshi Kaneshiro.
Just watched the episode last night. And i was like, hey she looks so familiar, soon realising that it was mugita natsumi of lunch queen! (takeuchi yuko’s character)….wahhh, i was so excited!!! yay! she looks so different from the old days with her hair short! so pretty la!
gotta love her smile…and i agree with jenny above, that she should star in another drama with satoshi…they’re such a cute couple.
Huge Takeuchi Yuko fan since Lunch Queen; surprise she’s on Flash Forward! I too wish she would star in another show; maybe a romantic comedy?! even.
Cheers kawaii people
I’d have to consult you in it all article. That’s not something I usually do! I love studying a blog post which will make people think. Also, thank you just for allowing me to provide feedback!
