Today CMDB released its list of the most successful commercial brands this year (August’08~October’09). Softbank was able to keep the 1st spot for the 3rd consecutive year and continued to update their amusing and well-known "White Family" commercials starring Ueto Aya. They’ve also acquired SMAP as new image characters, so it seems like it’s not that surprising to see Softbank at the to again.
As usual the Top3 is compromised of the 3 big mobile phone companies, with KDDI (Arashi) on 2nd and NTT DoCoMo (Horikita Maki, Matsuyama Kenichi and others) on 3rd place this year. Apart from them, a couple of those commercials with catchy songs and dances were able to get into the Top10 as well. People probably still love to dance to Fit’s commercial with the comical dance starring Sasaki Nozomi and Sato Takeru. Sasaki also dances her way through Lotte’s "Boss" commercial alongside Daichi Mao and Nishikawa Ayako on the 7th place.
Though this Suntory brand didn’t make it into the Top10, both Nakamura Shido and Matsuda Shota will always be remembered as the macho men thanks to the "Protein Water" commercials. Talking about commercials with funny dances, we should not forget to mention Glico and their hilarious "Pocky Chocolate" commercials featuring IMALU in her first ever TV commercial.
