That’s how I look like with the strong winds blowing around the high buildings.

At the set and it’s cold.

But we finished with this set!

Thank goodness!

 

A few days ago I got to participate in the talk derby at Tunnels no Minasan no Okage Deshita.

Oh man! They made me laugh so much, my stomach felt like I did 100 sit-ups!

Today there is yet another variety show on my schedule, my poor stomach.

But first of all I’m going to stay inside for a bit, where it’s warm. （・Ｕ・）

Naka nai to Kimeta Hi 1

This morning I received the finished version.
I already watched it twice since then. (^^;;

I often get asked: "How was it to play an office lady for the first time?", but more than that it is also my first dorama with a severe topic and about problems in society. Every day I tried to see it from the viewpoint of the viewers and wondered how I should act out certain scenes to harmonize with them the best.

And then I also have to mix those thoughts together with the direction of the story, the directors ideas and already imagine the course of the dorama inside my head. It is a really difficult work for me this time.

The fact that we usually film random scenes from 1, 2 or even 3 different episodes doesn’t help me either.

That’s why I immediately wanted to watch the finished episode.

The finished episode is extended and 75 minutes long, but it really finished in the blink of an eye.

To me it felt like only a concentrate of so many things! laughs

The music is beautiful! Both the theme song and the background music.

It feels like they are slowly getting into all the characters.

I already received and read the scripts up until episode 5 and it really is going to draw you into the story much stronger from now on. There are so many kinds of story peaks in the upcoming episodes!

I guess I can say that I really enjoyed it!

No matter what, I’m going to give it my all…!

Tonight I’ll appear on "Haneru no Tobira" together with Anne-chan. (o^^o)

We will also be on the 100 Yen Shop corner!

I’m 100% tense on variety shows, but lately my tension seems disappear with a "pop" in the middle of the shows and suddenly I really start to have a lot of fun. (o^^o)

Though it’s a bit embarrassing to see me like that. (^^;;

All the other performers were really funny and I totally couldn’t stop laughing.
It was so much fun at the actual set, so you really have to watch it!

Anne-chan’s truly sharp skills as a surveyor were really ridiculous. (*^m^*）

I also want to watch it asap~ ♪

Dorama Tours

Today I’ll make an appearance on Fuji TV’s "Dorama Tours" starting at 11:10. (o^^o)

We toured the sets of the dorama!

 

I have been desperately trying to warm my body these days.

A good way to do that is with a lot of ginger!!

And on that note, I spent over 1 hour preserving ginger in sugar. (o^v^o)

I used beet sugar, because it’s said to be very healthy. ☆

Then I found the lunch box I used back then in kindergarten and put it in there. ☆

They say that if you are consciously doing a really deep breath, the oxygen will even reach your fingers.

HQ Scans are taking too long to get released, so here are the MQ scans of the CUT magazine along with a couple of scans that have a "juicier" quality (^_^) and a little comment from the CUT editors:

The first CUT of 2010 is out now!
Toda Erika is on the cover. As usual for CUT it’s a SEXY edition and additional to that it’s the first Japanese actress to be on the cover. If you’ve already seen the contents of this edition, you can tell that the theme is "The Next Stage of Toda Erika". This year she is turning 22 and I think we did a good job of capturing the looks and expressions you have never seen from her so far.

Moreover we have been impressed at how much she is able to change in front of the camera. I guess we should have known, after all she is a very professional actress. Of course a concept is nothing more than a concept, but both the model and the photographer need to find the right groove to bring it to life. Her ability to maintain that groove for the whole time and her very high concentration completely amazed us. During the shooting there was a problem with the camera and we had some time to kill. She was really friendly during that break and talked with our staff, but as soon as we were able to continue the shooting she instantly turned back into "SEXY MODE". Nothing was able to break her concentration and her groove was the best until the very end. I think you can see the result in the pictures. You definitely have to check them out.

The picture above shows the polaroid we took after the shooting and interview as a present for one of our readers. No matter how often I look at it, the difference between her expression here and throughout the spread in the magazine is really impressive.

We showed those to the people currently working with Juri-chan and they were really surprised. "That’s Juri-chan?" It’s must-see! A must-see!

Today they have just announced the news about NHK’s taiga dorama next year and I can’t wait to see what kind of woman this absolutely charming actress is going to portray.

	The present I got from Oniichan! "It was difficult for me to come up with a nice present, but maybe you’ll like it…" He said. My first time experiencing doctor fishes!! I was happy about Oniichan’s care.. I told everyone: "It’s not like that!! Your feelings are what make me happy. Really." Isn’t that right? I was so glad about Oniichan’s care, I was almost about to cry. And then I tried to get a shot of everyone from my family with their feet inside the pool. Ueto family and friends~ So happy~ Doctor fishes… when they tickled everyone!! What an uproar!!!!
	At the sea… You can see my nephew and Oniichan’s girlfriend playing together…. Every night we played hide and seek while inventing a new rule each time!! Thanks to my nephew, every time I get asked: "What was the most fun in Okinawa?", I immediately answer: "Hide and seek!!!"… You can play things like hide and seek everywhere, can’t you?! (laughs)
	Okinawan soba It was delicious!! Simple but out of this world. I want to eat it again. *cries*
	..while deciding which program to watch, I took the picture before they’ve noticed! That back… isn’t Aya’s but her mom’s! People say we look really similar from the back. Mom and my nephew were getting along really well and dazed at the TV in the same pose!
	At the Nago Pineapple Park When entering we suddenly…w-what!!?? We discovered Aya’s uncle!! He is nicely gracing the picture. My proud uncle~ No matter what person you are… you definitely should should visit the Nago pineapple park~ Maybe it’s not that much of a coincidence that I met my uncle on New Year’s Day!!
	Now to our next trip… Since we went to Naha with my nephew, I absolutely had to take him to the beautiful sea aquarium there… The very close manatees… Depending on each other~ It was too lovely!! Being kind and depending on other’s kindness… It’s one of the most important things for all of us who have a heart.
	An utsubo (moray eel)… Eh!? Utsubo!? This reminds me of the taiga dorama "Yoshitsune" where I played a character with the same name. Utsubo… so that’s how they look like…

The Ueto Family consisting of 6 adults and 1 child went to Okinawa~

Instead of watching TV, we went out on several trips, had some really delicious meals and spent every night talking with each other about anything that came to mind… I cried when I received the letter from Oniichan… all in all I received a lot of love.
The Ueto Family is overflowing with love.

Really… it’s beyond just great.
We totally seem to able to convey this love with our words and our actions.
I guess it might be thanks to mom’s education…

It’s THE HAPPY News of 2010 that I was able to receive a "Thank you, Aya" from everyone.

I’m surrounded by such a family… a family that is able to refill my "love tank" in an instant despite being separated from them for such long times because of work…

 

Will this Ueto Family continue to exist every day without change?

 

This year I hope that I will be able to say "This didn’t change, huh~" to a lot of things again. Every day I will work hard towards this goal and count on the huge "vessel" of love and support of the Ueto Family~

2009-01-18

	This year’s topic~ Cooking for oneself!! and on that matter, somehow I bought a lot of ginger for this winter… I made myself stewed taros with a thick starchy kuzu sauce and a lot of ginger as well as ginger jako and a shijimi clam soup~ This went quite smoothly~ It’s odd praising it myself, I really would like you to taste it. ^^ My skills are improving~ By the way, the other day I also made a meat and potato stew!!
	I suddenly got a couple of days off and went to a far away place. The 3 of us, my mom, a friend and me, stayed there for 1 night. It’s been so long that we’ve stayed in a private pension… it’s really nice~ It was so harmonious~ and so great~ On our way back we also went shopping clothes at an outlet mall. ^^ It was a really great holiday~~~
	We ended up in a pet shop… Ah~~~~ I want to meet those little fellows once more… They are so cute~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I got invited to Ichiro Maki-neechan’s birthday party~ It was Ishii-okaachan who organized it and it was more than just beautiful with the smiling faces of all of the families… Simply amazing~ That night my 2 nieces came to stay overnight. We’ve told each other our love stories and stuff like that… Our girls club continued until the next morning~ Note: Ichiro, Ishii, Ueto and "the families" all are related to "Wataru Seken wa Oni Bakari", but of course that’s not the only time they’ve worked together.

Fuji TV announced a new 4-episodes-long omnibus dorama that is going to air on 4 consecutive nights starting on March 01. The dorama is called "Sotsu-Uta" and the interesting thing is that it is actually based on songs (uta) about graduation (sotsugyo) and departure into a new part of your life like Yuming’s "Sotsugyo Shashin" or EXILE’s "Michi". The 4 starring actresses for the 4 episodes are going to be Shida Mirai (16), Kuninaka Ryoko (30), Kitano Kie (18) and Nagasawa Masami (22).

 

The first episode stars Shida and is inspired by Kiroro’s song "Best Friend". It’s a story that nicely portrays the pure life of two senior high school students and how they approach the inevitable farewell. Fellow actress Kutsuna Shiori (17) is going to play her best friend.

Kuninaka stars in the 2nd night and brings EXILE’s "Michi" to life. She is going to play a young woman who is about to get married and her relationship with her stubborn yet caring father (Hirata Mitsuru).

Sukima Switch beautiful song "Kanade" from 2004 is going to tone the story for the 3rd episode. A university student more worried about her dreams and love rather than finding a job, that’s the girl Kitano is going to portray the best she can.

Finally there is Nagasawa’s role who actually makes an appearance as a radio personality in all of the episode mentioned just now. Though she is going to be the heroine in the final episode. Her story will be based on Matsutoya Yumi’s graduation song "Sotsugyo Shashin" and portray the life of a young woman moving to Tokyo and trying to make a living there.

 

March is the graduation season and many people are starting off into new chapters of their lives. Fuji TV’s producer Misao explains that this dorama is intended to give all those a push who are standing on such a crossroad of life. The filming already started and the 4 of them can already relate to their characters and the respective songs.

Shida: "I will try my best to portray the precious feelings of a girl in love."

Kuninaka: "’Michi’ has been one of my favorite songs for a long time now."

Kitano: "I’ll do my best in playing a rather openhearted young girl."

Nagasawa: "I’m really happy that I get to play in a dorama based on the famous song ‘Sotsugyo Shashin’."

Teen model Moe Arai (14) will star in her first television drama this spring. NHK is adapting the popular mobile phone novel "Gekikoi"　by Mirai Minazuki and titling the drama "Gekikoi: Unmei no Love Story."

 

Arai entered show business in 2004 and soon started appearing in dramas and films. As a model, she was named Miss Young Magazine last year in the Miss Magazine 2009 contest.

 

In "Gekikoi," Arai plays Miyu, a high school girl who can’t trust men after her father had an affair. Still, she inexplicably finds herself gradually falling for soccer club member Sou (Shu Watanabe). But when she learns the truth about him, her love becomes too painful to bear.

 

Other cast members include Toru Kazama, Tomoya Warabino, Alice Hirose, and Yoriko Douguchi. NHK will broadcast the series on Thursday nights at 12:15am, for a total of eight episodes. The first one is planned to air on April 9.
