Sakuraba likes to sing now

bump01Today was the (single) performance of the stage adaption of the web-dorama "bump.y" that focuses on a girls unit called bump.y starring the actresses Sakuraba Nanami (17) and Kikuzato Hikari (16).

The play is called "Mappiruma no Elevator" and follows the story of the mini dorama. This time the girls are on their way to the audition when suddenly the elevator gets stuck. Most of the story will play in that elevator. It will be like another episode of the dorama and thus there won’t be more performances of that adaption. The point of the play also is to allow the viewers to get in contact with the actresses.

Sakuraba has some very long lines that increase the possibility of mistakes and the dorama even made her sing, even though she didn’t really like it. "I’m really anxious about making mistakes and I really didn’t use to like singing at all. However, with this dorama I started to like it more. I even go to the karaoke all alone now just to sing a couple of minutes." She revealed.

Kikuzato is another very promising young actress who aims to become an international actress. Her advantage is that she is able to speak both English and French. "The most important thing in a play is your speaking volume! You have to express everything with a large voice. It will also be the first time I’m going to use French as part of my role!"

The girls unit also includes Takatsuki Sara (12), the sisters Miyatake Mio (13) and Miyatake Matsuri (10), and Matsuyama Meari (18).

Wow, being able to speak Japanese, English and French. Two foreign languages at such a young age – that should indeed help Hikari on the international stage.

Let’s just hope she doesn’t get torn to shreds by the Hollywood juggernaut.
