Actresses That Produce Must-Watch Doramas

Posted by HPriest on February - 6 - 2010

ayaseJapanese internet search engine and web portal "goo" released the results of another recent survey related to actresses. It was focused on all actresses that are younger than 30 only, but similar to the actor rankings they are probably going to put up another ranking for the older actresses very soon as well.

What actress can you recommend? The entertainment world brings out one new female celebrity after another. Most of them usually start out with roles in doramas and soon they become some of the most popular actresses in the country. It’s can be hard to keep track, so let’s separate the wheat from the chaff. "Younger than 30 year-old female celebrities that make you watch a dorama no matter what." The literal translations for those ranking titles can sometimes be really long…

On first place we have a young actresses who had her big breakthrough with the dorama "Crying out Love, in the Center of the World" and since then has steadily seen an increase in her popularity. Yes, Ayase Haruka topped yet another new ranking. So far she played many different roles and often revealed her natural and particular character on variety shows. Her costars like to describe her as a "natural airhead" which isn’t necessarily a bad trait in the eyes of many. As clumsy she is in real life, as professional she can be during filming.

Shibasaki Kou ranked int on second place. She often gets praised for her diversity that eventually resulted in a 2nd career as a singer. On February 6 her new movie "Rinco’s Restaurant" will open to the public and many people are looking forward to what kind of acting she is going to show them this time. It never gets boring watching her, that’s why she makes every dorama a must-watch.

Many will be glad to see that Nagasawa Masami is still up there in the top 3 as well, despite her bad choice of roles recently and no luck at the box office rankings either. Interest in her seems to be as high as ever, all she needs to do is to deliver. I’m looking forward to her projects in 2010.

Here now the full ranking:

this is good masami is having a good start 2SPs and new 2endorcements pretty good after the flops last yr I’m glad that she’s scoring high on some rankings like oricons valentine ranking “who you want to recieve choco” she ranked 1st and aragaki yui for 2nd inspite of the boosting popularity of yui.

    This is good news indeed.

Now the only thing left to do is for Toho to let Masami do her thing without weighing her down to much or burdening her with an ill-suited role. And for entertainment execs to offer her said roles.

In doramas, that is, because this specifically asks for doramas. The result with Miyazaki Aoi “only” in fourth place and Aoi Yu in tenth place also shows that Masami’s bankability in movie roles is still not up to par. Quite sad for someone who turned the 2004 Japanese hit movie into something special indeed.

Interesting side fact: Shida Mirai and Yoshitaka Yuriko are quite low in that ranking…a tad strange, IMHO, especially for Mirai.

Sorry, we do not believe in rankings or the polls only reflect the actual audience or spectators, which is in the drama only reflect the popularity, and have been found, usually the first places and I think Ayase kou-chan can deny that they are sight, but if Aragaki Yui Chan is popular and pretty, it is undeniable, but it never works alone, is always low when hearing is something unique that needs a companion to their popular drama or movies not are failures, it is pretty fantastic, though the ratings are not everything in my opinion but not even she and many of the list are multi-faceted or act, if they do not on average that.
I really like and all this list at least one or two actresses did not achieve recognition of the surveys if not an Oscar nomination for instance, or international recognition, it is good hope in the future who knows someone to achieve them

Funny, I think Shida is ranked quite high. And Kashii Yuu and Karina are below her? Weird. lol

But Miyazaki Aoi, Ueno Juri, and Hirosue Ryoko should be higher on that list. They made even bad scripts watchable.

Some actresses should have been ranked higher and others lower.
I think Aragaki Yui and Nagasawa should not be as high as they were. Masami’s doramas and movies for the past years have been huge failures(even though she had for example Odagiri Joe as a co-actor)
Ayase again I think her work varies she can be goo or then just boring.
Actresses that definetely should be on the list are Juri, Yu Aoi, Hirosue(who’s acting has improved with age)Kashii, Miazaki and Horikita. Many others too of course.
