Not many hours are left until the big showdown between Japanese figure skater Asada Mao (19) and South Korean superstar Kim Yu-Na (19). Apparently actress Inoue Mao (23) is looking forward to that moment like almost everyone in Japan and South Korea.
Today was the press conference for Inoue's upcoming movie "My Darling is a Foreigner" co-starring Jonathan Sherr (35). The second big topic next to the movie itself was about the women's figure skating event taking place today (local time). Inoue is rooting for Asada, of course. "I have always been cheering for Mao-chan and even already went to the skating rink to watch her performance. Tonight will be all about the preview screening and stage greeting of the movie, but tomorrow the free skating event will be the only thing on my mind…," she said with a smile on stage. Further she added, "If there is anybody who can win a gold medal, it's Mao-chan. I believe in her."
After some more smalltalk about the movie, they eventually returned back to figure skating. "Whenever I sit in front of the TV, I can't stop cheering Mao-chan! Mao-chan!," Inoue revealed. Of course she also watched the women's short program on the 23rd (local time). "It was so thrilling, I almost had a heart attack," she commented without hiding her excitement. Sherr added, "What about a meeting of the Maos?" Inoue was definitely intrigued by that idea. "A Mao meeting? …I definitely would like for this to come true some day!"
The movie will open on April 10, but today you should join her and support Asada in front of your TV.

naah not gonna happen seriously….i like asada mao and i like better ando miki but kim yuna is just unstoppable….. mao needs a miracle if she wants a gold maybe if yuna failed one trick she may have a chance haha.
ok as expected kim yuna won the gold she outscored mao over 20points and even took higher points than arakawa shizuka who won the gold torino olympics06 but mao won silver anyways:D
sad:( ando miki ranked 5th.
I'm still happy for Kim, though. I just like them both, Kim and Asada. It was a great event, only Miki disappointed a bit with her "boring" program. She can do a lot better than that, but I guess she just wanted to get into the top5 again after so many problems over the past years.
yeah im happy for kim and congratuations for breaking a world record…………………i think if mao perfected her tricks and stuffs she should have been the gold medalist..she took 2 misses if i remember.
yeah me too i was really dissapointed about the performance of miki and i think this is her last chance of getting a medal shes already aging another 4yrs will be tough for her it will not be the same.
so on i enjoy the event the rivalry between yuna and mao has ended and yuna took the crown shes retiring already right?
Retire? She said she will be there for the world championships in March in Turino. Whether she is going to be at the next Olympics is another question.
oh thanks gladly wew haha my mom got a wrong news want to see more yuna`s upcoming performances.
Kim and Joannie were AMAZING! And they were Trending Topics on Twitter today http://bit.ly/a9IaX7
I knew Yuna was going to won but I do feel that there was something a little odd with her score. The score was way to high(yes she would have won but the score compared to her techinique was to high) and this makes you think were the judges really neutral it seems two of them were korean. Poor Mao though I hope now she leaves Tatiana Tarasova and finds a better coach. And I hope she wont be critized in Japan.
I wonder if this will show up…
Anyway, figure skating is a strange animal. There's no way it can be objective, since all the judging is left to people. People who have nationalities, obligations, debts, affiliations…
Poor Mao. I, too, hope she won't have a hard time after her return to Japan.
I know Yuna was going to win yatta! mao is also good but i juz dont like her. Im happy for Yuna plus she breaks a record but silver is not bad, mao must be happy though…
but the most awesome skater that i've seen is Daisuke…love and admired the guys spirit.
Congratulations on having certainly one of the more sophisticated site Ive arrived at in a minute!
