Today Fuji TV announced that they are going to make a dorama special in the same line as American cult flick "Die Hard". It will be called "Keiji Narusawa Ryo: Shuu" and is based on Doba Shunichi's popular police novel series.
Actor Sakaguchi Kenji (34) will play that stoic, never-before-seen detective that is fighting against all kinds of destructive terrorism. His partner will be played by actress Yada Akiko (31), a woman that finally returned back to work 1 year after a terrible divorce. Together they'll become the strongest duo in the most thrilling action dorama special in the history of Japanese TV, at least according to Fuji TV's plans.
The supporting cast will be of extraordinary quality as well. Sakaguchi's superior will be played by Endo Kenichi (48), comedian Gori (Garage Sale) will play his biggest rival while actress YOU (45) will try to remind him of the laws he has to follow. Terajima Susumu (46) will play one of those annoying bureaucrats and Takenaka Naoto (53) will disguise himself as a mysterious man that happens to be on the scene of every act of terrorism.
The "Shuu" part of the novel series has sold over 1.5 million copies and is said to be the best chapter of the series. Fuji TV plans to air this special some time this year.
