Most spring dramas started in April and are already getting close to their climax. Thus it was time for Oricon's print magazine "Oricon Star" to announce the "Spring Drama ☆ AWARD 2010". A total of 1050 readers participated in the survey and most of them chose "Shinzanmono" (TBS) as their favorite drama this season.
Shinzanmono is based on a popular novel by Higashino Keigo and follows a detective as he tries to uncover the truth behind a murder case in the lower parts of Tokyo, Ningyocho. It offers a suspense detective story mixed with the nice atmosphere and charm of that region in Tokyo. Abe Hiroshi (45) is starring as detective Kaga Kyoichiro and while trying to stay as close to the original as possible, he also adds some new spice with his performance.
"The original was good and the script stays true to the original. I like it and it made we want to go to Ningyocho." A female reader of the magazine commented. "The feeling of having the criminal right in front of you and yet you don't know who it might be is great." Another reader praised the atmosphere and the lie-filled story.
Eita and Ueno Juri's twitter drama "Sunao ni Narenakute" ranked second short behind Shinzanmono. "Team Batista 2" came in third.

Go Juri!!
Go Juri XD give us another Nodame-like performance
also O_O those votes are quite O_O just a few votes and oricon made a ranking? O_O SHINJIRARENAI! plus the season is yet to be over.. and if this was representing the truth then why the ratings of sunao ni narenakute are not that high?
@bubblegum: That is a good question about Sunao ni Narenakute. It’s a good thing that the 1,050 people who participated in the survey are not representative of the entire set of people who watch doramas. Ryoma den would be the top dorama if ratings are concerned, but since these rankings sound more like a popularity contest (imho), it would not be considered.
In any case, I hope not everyone takes these rankings seriously
As much as I love Ueno Juri, I think her portrait of Haru wasn’t that great in the first episodes of Sunao ni Nareankute. As for Sunao itself, I believe the plot wasn’t well developed. Eita is doing a good job, better acting than the rest of the cast in the drama, in my opinion.
In any case 1050 votes can’t be considered really representative.
Hmm, i’m glad Shinzanmono is that popular it’s one of the best doraman that is airing at the moment. Mother should be rated higher though.
Juri I feel doesn’t necessary deserve to be that high Sunao is not that fantastic, Matsuyuki Yasuko is simply wonderful in Mother.
Shinzanmono was one of the most boring detective dramas i have ever watched D: i cannot understand why it is popular O_O
ludo, i do not love ueno juri but i will be honest , her haru role in suano ni narenakute has a nodame feel to it. i think that the only role that she did and left an impact was actually nodame. i have watched her in other ones but she seemed kind of stiff D: ueno is cute though .. too bad that people do not like her much in japan because of those rumors about her -_-
