Next month the movie "Renai Gikyoku" starring actress Fukada Kyoko (27) will finally open in theaters. Today she participated in a PR event together with fellow actor Shiina Kippei (46) and director Kokami Shoji (52) to pray for the success of the movie.
Especially director Kokami left everyone dumbfounded with his amusing remark about why he casted Fukakyon for that role. "I was fascinated by Fukada's cleavage in Yatterman," he said. Fukada was really surprised and bashfully replied, "I'll never show my cleavage again!"
Director Kokami also is an excellent playwright adapted the story for the movie from his own play "Renai Gikyoku". The story starts with the incompetent TV producer Mukai (Kokami) begging scriptwriter Taniyama Mayumi (Fukakyon) to write a script for him. "Please write a script for me! I'll do anything you want!" Taniyama toys with him and replies, "Okay, I want you to fall in love with me." From there on the movie develops into a funny love comedy. Another interesting fact is that Fukakyon will actually play 3 different characters in the movie, the scriptwriter Taniyama, the simple and worn-out housewife in Taniyama's script and the gorgeous novelist in the script written by the housewife.
Fukada about the movie, "I think it's a movie that will make you want to fall in love after watching." Her favorite role among the different character she is going to portray in the movie seems to be the gorgeous novelist. She said, "It felt good saying some strong words towards the leading figure."
Shiina on the other hand hasn't appeared in a comedy for many years and talked about his new experience. "I haven't shown any kind of comedy in my acting for probably more than 20 years. I wonder his this role is going to change my future career as an actor. The movie was fun to make. Mukai is doing a lot of negotiations. He had locked his heart, but throughout the movie you can feel how it's slowly opening up again," he said.
"Renai Gikyoku ~Watashi to Koi ni Ochite Kudasai~" will open in Japan on September 25, 2010.
