Today the actors Ishihara Satomi (23), Tanihara Shosuke (38), Oshima Yuuko (21) and mangaka Kaitani Shinobu (Liar Game) introduced the new comedy-mystery drama “Reinoryokusha Odagiri Kyoko no Uso” that is based on one of Kaitani’s manga.

The highlight of the little press conference was to see Ishihara wearing her unique “Arabian” kimono kind of dress for the first time in public. After looking at the dress, people immediately noticed that something seemed different when she was standing right next to the 183cm tall Tanihara. The 157cm short Ishihara must be wearing some impressive shoes under that dress, because at the event it looked like as if she was 180cm tall. [...]

Tomorrow the new commercial for “Daiwa House”, Japan’s largest homebuilder, starring actor Yakusho Koji (54) will finally go on air and continue exactly where the previous commercial left off.

In the previous commercial, “Heroine The 1st” the fictional staff of the commercial requested Yakusho to wear the costume of their new image character “Daiwa Woman”. Obviously he was dumbfounded by their unreasonable request to wear the costume of a female character and refused to try it one. The staff then asked him who else if not him is going to do it and he said, “Why not someone like Kuroki Meisa?” The staff responds, “You really love her, huh?” It ended after that, but in the new commercial, “Heroine The 2nd” we can see that Kuroki actually accepted the love call and puts on the costume, even though her manager (in the commercial) also refused the costume at first. Actress Toda Erika (22) and actor Kase Ryo (35) took the stage today at TBS to present their new drama “SPEC”.

Especially Toda was standing out in her role as Touma Saya, a weird woman and genius with an IQ of 201 who always has her left arm in a triangle bandage and never stands straight. “About 3-4 years ago I realized that while I need to have pride as an actress, I don’t need any kind of womanly pride for acting,” Toda was fully motivated about her role. “The director gave me instruction like, ‘I want you to pick your nose’. Of course it was a bit shocking at first, but no matter what filthy or cruel things he wants me to do, if he requests it, I’ll do it,” she explained and stated all the fun she had during the filming while not thinking about her image as a woman. Today was the premiere for Karina’s (26) new movie “Love Come” and the main cast and director attended a stage greeting event at the Wald-9 theater in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It’s story is a romantic comedy about a beautiful but very strong-minded woman (Karina) who reunites and ends up falling in love with a softy (Tanaka Kei) who she has not seen for 17 years.

Karina about her role, “She might have some traits of an old man, but she’s still a woman. You can see her more feminine side in front of men or when she’s crying her eyes out. I’ve tried to express that character gap to the best of my abilities.” [...]

Today actress Fukada Kyoko (27) attended a stage greeting event of her new movie”Renai Gikyoku” that opened today. Actors Shiina Kippei (46) and Tsukamoto Takashi (27), and director Kokami Shoji went on stage as well.

Reinai Gikyoku is a romantic comedy about an unskilled TV producer (Shiina) and a gifted screenwriter (Fukada). He absolutely wants her to write him a script and would do anything in return. “Anything?” She asks herself and tells him her demand, “Fall in love with me!” This is the beginning of a forced love slowly changes into true love throughout the story. Fukakyon actually gets to play 3 roles in the movie: the selfish scriptwriter who likes to abuse men, the simple and lonely housewife inside the scriptwriter’s script and the gorgeous female novelist inside the script the housewife. A truly complex script that is. [...]

TOKIO’s Nagase Tomoya (31) and actress Horikita Maki (21) will appear together in the commercials for Lotte’s new chocolate brand “CHARLOTTE i”.

Horikita will disguise herself as a clumsy employee in a PR department, but fortunately she has a very lighthearted boss played by Nagase who just says “It’s okay~!” after she did a mistake. [...]

Today was a PR-Event for Panasonic’s digital compact camera “Lumix FX700″ in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It was attended by their current image character actress Ayase Haruka (25), but she wasn’t alone. A gigantic 10m high Ayase Haruka balloon towered above the stage. Ayase herself was surprised by its dimension as well. “Please take a picture of my huge self instead of me,” she said.

The camera with the touch screen has been on sale since late August and on their web page they had a special game called “Scale Up Ayase Haruka Touch! Game”. Almost 9 million “touches” have been registered until the end of the game and thus they’ve made the scaled-up Ayase become reality. [...]
