Announcement of NHK’s “Saka no Ue no Kumo”

On the 15th was a press event for NHK’s special dorama “Saka no Ue no Kumo”.
It was the first announcement of Ishihara Satomi playing the wife Sueko of Akiyama Saneyuki played by Motoki Masahiro.

At the day of the press event they were filming the marriage ceremony.
Satomi was very nervous during the whole time due to the unfamiliar clothes and all her great seniors around her. Sueko will only make her appearance during the 2nd part (fall 2010), but the dorama itself already starts on November 27, 2009.

Finished with “Voice” !

Thanks for supporting “Voice” during those 3 months!

When only one day of filming was left in March…
we used the board and made the picture above as a memory.
The whole cast and staff came together for pictures and everyone realized that the end is near.


It was very sunny that day and we were on the campus of the university for the last time. The 5 of them were reluctant to part and talked a lot that day. Satomi received a lot of encouragement from everyone who co-starred seminar colleagues and really had a great time as Kanako in the dorama. I hope that all of you noticed Kanako’s personal growth since she came back from America…

Many fans gave us their impressions after every episode each week and we’ve been really thankful for that. Satomi had a lot of fun looking at them every week and received a lot of encouragement from them.

We still can’t tell you anything about her new project, so please try to be patient a little bit longer. I’m hoping that you will continue to support Ishihara Satomi from now on as well.

Guam report vol. 5! This is the last part!!
You can expect some more and new photos from the Guam photo shooting in the opening color pages of Shonen Magazine that goes on sale on the 18th next week.
That issue is the 50th anniversary of “Weekly Shonen Magazine”.
Before now Satomi already had photo shootings for this magazine all over Japan and even all over the world, so definitely mark it down in your calendar!


From the left you can see make-up artist Akane-san, stylist Ao-chan, cameraman Nishida-san and local coordinator Nori-chan. It was a really enjoyable photo shooting thanks to all of them. Thank you very much ☆

It’s been decided that they’ll repeat all episodes of “Voice” before the final!!
You’ll be able to see episode 1 to 10 again in the 10 weekdays between the 9th and the 23rd when the final airs!!
They are currently filming the most interesting part of the story, it’s the last spurt and everyone’s trying their best.

DVD Release Event

This time I’m reporting about the DVD release event/talk show for “Flying Rabbits” that recently took place.

The filming for “Flying Rabbits” was done during summer 2007 and it came out in the cinemas in fall 2008.
It’s a movie about youth based on the really existing basketball team of the Japan Airlines called “JAL Rabbits” and now the DVD of it got released.
She plays the role of Hayase Yukari who tries to reconcile her work as a CA (cabin attendant) and her love for basketball. With the use of all her strength she tries her best at work, basketball, love and friendship.

For the event she put on her CA uniform that she hadn’t been wearing since the release of the movie and came on stage with basketball player Yashiro Naomi (JAL Rabbits) who was wearing a similar uniform. On stage she then recalled some memories from during the filming.



The DVD comes with a making-of and lots of other bonus footage like where Ishihara, Maki Youko and Takizawa Saori talk a bit about what happened behind the scenes. I hope you enjoy it!

Before reporting about Guam.

This is in the studio for JOLF’s radio show “Ishihara Satomi SAY TO ME!”.
It was during the meeting with the staff of the studio.
Having a radio show is very special for Satomi, because she’s been loving to listen to the radio since her childhood.
Eita and Ikuta Touma, her co-actors from “Voice” will appear as guests
on “Ishihara Satomi SAY TO ME!” that is going to get aired on the 22nd.
Please, you all have to listen to it by all means!
