“Akunin” to get a Hollywood remake?

The currently screening movie “Akunin” starring Tsumabuki Satoshi (29) and Fukatsu Eri (37) might get a Hollywood treatment, it was revealed today.

Distributor Toho disclosed that they indeed received an offer last week and that it “would be able to transfer the setting outside of Japan”. Toho further mentioned that they are going to discuss details regarding the director and the cast soon, so a Hollywood remake might very well see the light of day. [...]

Press conference for Karina’s “Love Come”

Today was the press conference for the romantic comedy “Love Come” starring actress Karina (26) in her first movie leading role since 2004.

Karina will play the role of a manager of a flower arrangement shop, who has not had a boyfriend in nearly two years. Despite her feminine beauty, she can be described as one of the “most frightening woman”. She is reunited with an awkward anime screenwriter, played by Tanaka Kei (26), 17 years after they last met. Sakuraba Nanami dressed in a white kimono

Actress Sakuraba Nanami (17) will play the female lead in the movie “Saigo no Chushingura” that will open in Japan this December and today they’ve already released a picture of her showcasing the true and traditional beauty of a Japanese woman wearing a pure white kimono.

The movie is based a historic novel written by Ikemiya Shouichiro who is known for a lot of other works, for example “Shijushichinin no Shikaku”. Director Sugita Shigemichi, known for his drama series “Kita no Kuni kara” is bringing the novel to the big screen. [...]

Fukada Kyoko shedding tears for RAM WIRE’s first music video

Newcomer trio RAM WIRE will provide the theme song for Fukada Kyoko’s (27) upcoming movie “Renai Gikyoku” (more info here). The song is called “Himitsu” and the music video for the song will star Fukada as well.

It’s her first appearance in a music video for an artist other than herself and it’s going to be a very sad and painful clip about a love triangle. The story of the clip is basically a spin-off of the movie itself and Fukada is going to switch into the role of the protagonist, the scriptwriter Taniyama Mayumi again. She had to shed a lot of tears for the crying scenes, but the result is supposed to be very impressive and very realistic. [...]

oshimura Akira’s historic novel “Sakuradamon no Ben” has been turned into a live-action film and today was the first preview screening at the Marunouchi TOEI theater in Yurakucho, Tokyo. The stage greeting was attended by the cast consisting of Osawa Takao (42), Hasegawa Kyoko (32), Watabe Gota (24), Bando Minsouke, Emoto Akira (61) and Kato Seishiro (9), as well as the director Sato Junya.

The story of the movie is leading up to the assassination of Ii Naosuke, one of the most influencing incidents that happened at the end of the Edo era. Osawa plays the protagonist Seki Tetsunosuke, Hasegawa his wife and Kato their son. At the stage greeting the three of them really looked like a typical family of three, but the most eye-catching person on stage was Hasegawa with her gorgeous dress as white as the snow during one of the film’s most memorable scenes.
