Actress Karina (26) walked along a short runway today to present her new commercial for the major online clothing shop Nissen.

The new commercial promotes their autumn/winter collection 2010. Karina wore a tweed jacket, a culotte skirt and long boots to give us a nice example at the event. Since she's a model as well, she showed us her favorite pieces in form of a short walk on the runway.

In the commercial we can see her multiple times at the same time in a somewhat futuristic train. Each of her roles wears another outfit from the new collection. It's supposed to show that you can express lots of different feelings with different styles. Karina said that it was fun wearing all those clothes and looked back at the filming. "We had to film each outfit at once first and then they all got edited into one commercial. It was difficult for me to move the right way and find the right positions," she explained.

Before and after the presentation of the new commercial, nissen also held the "nissen BEST STYLING CONTEST 2010" where 100 of their customers had the chance to show their skills as a stylist by coordinating their own outfits based on the 4 categories "Natural" – "Cool" – "Sparkling" and "Sweet". The various clothes were provided by nissen, of course. Karina also participated at the contest as one of the judges.

The new "nisse, autumn edition" commercial with Karina's collection can be seen on TV as of today.

Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya (27) is confirmed to be starring in a new drama series this fall. Titled "Freeter, Ie wo Kau," the show will feature Ninomiya as a part-time worker trying to get his life back together for the sake of his family. Karina (26) will play the female lead.

The show is Ninomiya's first starring role in a drama series since the 2008 "Ryusei no Kizuna." As an actor, he has recently been focused on filming for his upcoming movies "Ooku" and "GANTZ." In contrast with those spectacular big screen roles, his character in this home drama will be a "freeter" (a term used to describe young people without full time employment, not counting students and homemakers).

The story is based on a book of the same name by Hiro Arikawa, published last year. The story revolves around a young man named Seiji Take (Ninomiya), who quits his job after three months. With no dreams, no savings, and a poor relationship with his family, he becomes a hikikomori (shut-in) in his own room. However, after his mother falls ill with depression, he ends up having to take on a part-time job at a construction site. Because of that, he soon decides to work towards rebuilding his life: "Even though I'm just a freeter, I'm going to buy a house for the sake of my family."

One of the people he meets at the construction site is Manami Chiba (Karina), who graduated from a top-class university and joined a well-known general contracting firm. Manami, proud to be working as an on-site supervisor, is the complete opposite of Seiji. But while their personalities clash at first, they gradually come to understand each other.

Filming already started earlier this month. The show will air on Fuji TV on Tuesdays at 9:00pm, starting in October.

Fashion model and actress Karina (26) is starring in a new movie called "Love Come," directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa. Karina has not played the lead role in a film since "Shinkokyuu no Hitsuyou" in 2004.

The movie's title is an abbreviation of the phrase "love comedy" and should not be confused with the manga series "Love Com" (an abbreviation of "Lovely Complex"). Set in the lower parts of Tokyo, "Love Come" has Karina playing the manager of a flower arrangement shop, who has not had a boyfriend in nearly two years. Despite her feminine beauty, she has a masculine personality. She is reunited with an awkward anime screenwriter (Kei Tanaka) 17 years after they last met.

The story is adapted from the novel of the same name by authors Atsushi Matsuhisa and Wataru Tanaka, who together also wrote "Tengoku no Honya." That book was turned into a movie in 2004 with the English title "Heaven's Bookstore."

Filming for "Love Come" started on June 13 and finished earlier this month. The movie will be released in theaters on September 25.

Today model and actress Karina (26) introduced the newest creations of her own wedding dress brand called "Sancta Carina". "I hope all kind of people are going to wear those dresses. After all it's all about having a lot of people wearing them." She promoted the dresses.

The new dresses are part of her 7th collection and this time she tried to combine the usual lovely image of a wedding dress with a "Rock City Girl" theme. There are some interesting ideas like a denim wedding dress or a dress that allows you to remove the skirt in 3 possible variations to turn it into a stylish dress for all kind of occasions. She also introduced some new colorful dresses like a beautiful orange or nice light blue combination perfect for a summer wedding. Of course she wore some of the dresses herself at the event.

"The designs have a stronger >rock< feeling this time, but at the same time they have to be just as pretty as the girl and therefore still include the sweet, fluffily and sparkling motifs that I like a lot. I'd like to make people think that a wedding doesn't have to be absolutely neat and clean." Karina explained the new designs. Her designs all aim to give the women wearing them a very happy feeling, but what about her own happiness? "I know I should be more worried about myself, but it's not that big of a topic for me. I wish other people to be happy and all, but I'm way too busy to think about my own happiness." She replied with a desolate expression.

In November the new dresses will be available for rent at hotels and marriage ceremonial halls and maybe she should think about herself first before tackling the 8th collection.

Model/Actress Karina (26) has been chosen as the heroine for the upcoming movie adaption of "Ashita no Joe" starring NEWS member Yamashita Tomohisa (25).

"Ashita no Joe" is a very popular manga that got published in the Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1968 to 1973. The special book containing all of the issues sold over 20million copies as well.

Karina will play Shiraki Yoko, daughter of the very wealthy and powerful Shiraki family. She and Toru Rikiishi played by Iseya Yuusuke (33) will look over Yabuki Joe (Yamashita) and the other guys and support them mentally as well as financially.

With her personally designed pink-beige coat and navy-blue dress Karina looked exactly like Shiraki Yoko. "I'm very happy, but at the same time there is a lot of pressure to play a character that is being loved by so many people," she said. Further she added: "Boxing has a great influence on Yoko and little by little it's changing her feelings. At heart she's a person with dignity, so I'd like to portray her as a strong and kind woman."

The movie is planned to open next spring.

It's time to decide on what to wear in spring, but how to choose? Many high school students look at their favorite celebrities and see what they are wearing. Oricon Style is aware of that and made their third survey asking female high school students about their top picks among female celebrities when it comes to copying their fashion.

In 2008 Kimura Kaela was able to rank first, in 2009 Amuro Namie took the crown and this time it's the always popular Becky (26) and her unique fashion sense that girls want to copy this spring. However, she isn't completely alone at the top. Actress Miyazaki Aoi (24) made it into the top 5 for the first time and already reached the top with the same amount of votes like Becky.

Miyazaki is able to score some points with her natural image. Some voters also mentioned the "Mori Girl" term again when talking about her. "Natural clothes simply suit her the best!" Her recent commercials for "earth music&ecology" raised the awareness of her natural image even more. Fellow actress Aoi Yuu (24) has a similar image and was considered to be the top mori girl among female celebrities, but in this survey she only ranked eighth.

Becky has always been in the top 5 and has a lot of fans for her unique fashion sense. Kimura Kaela (25) has a particular taste as well, but this year she only was able tor each the seventh place.

A good surprise is the ranking of young models/actresses like Kiritani Mirei (20, pic2) and Funayama Kumiko (18). Kiritani is currently the most popular model of the teenage fashion magazine "SEVENTEEN" while Funayama is the poster girl for gal fashion magazine "Popteen". Their popularity and images as a role models for girls and young women is expected to increase even more within the next couple of years.
